interesting solution if you dont leak much much May 14, 2011
By JoAnne Custer I leak a lot. A friend recommended I try these so I went and bought 3 pairs (the starter kit and 2 additional pairs). At first They seemed to work ok, but the milk would pool up so if I went to nurse and forgot to let the milk out, I'd end up with a mess down my shirt.
These are terrible for nursing in public if you dont use a nursing cover. At home they are ok cuz you have privacy. Its easier to fold down regular disposable or cloth breast pads in public than to have to carefully remove the lilypadz.
After about a month of use with daily cleaning with the lilywash and hot water, they started leaking. So I switched to a new pair - same problem. So everytime I went to burp my baby (on the shoulder of the side I hadnt nurssed on) I would end up soaking myself and my baby. Milky Mess!
I will hold on to these and hope they work better when Im not quite so milky (my son is 3 months old right now).
If you do any of the following, I would reconsider: 1)nurse in public without a cover 2)leak a lot 3)expect them to stay sticky longer than a month
I have gone back to Medela breast pads.

Fantastic tool for new moms! Mar 25, 2011
By rayrayangel22 I bought these to use with my second child. I had intended to use disposables like i did last time till I came across these. I am a heavy milk producer so i read other reviews and understand the frustrations with leaking milk pads. Other reviews stated that these leaked really bad. They don't you just need to stay on top of your feeding times, and not allow your breasts to get engorged. If baby isn't ready to feed just pump (express) some milk out. Another thing to remember is to keep them clean. Dirty silicone doesn't stick! Other than that these work very well, and cut down on the stuff you have to pack inur bag when going out. Luv em!

Just doesn't work well enough Aug 19, 2011

I'm a very heavy milk producer, and these guys just can't hold up. I got a set when my first was maybe a year old; they helped, but not 100%, and nobody wants to be at work when they fail -- so, I gave them up. With my second, when I started leaking around 20 weeks, I got a new set to get me through nights so I wouldn't have to wear a bra and be even more uncomfortable at night! They got me through a month or so, but that was all -- just the leaks I had overnight couldn't be stopped by these. I'd wake up with the lily pad still on, but the colostrum all over the sheets :-(. They just don't seem to stay sticky enough. I found the alcohol wipes did a better job of keeping them sticky than the foam wash did, but still not enough. Since they couldn't even contain me while pregnant, I've tossed them - they don't stand a chance against a real let down, which for me soaks a cloth diaper in minutes. (I can fill a 5 oz bottle simply by catching two letdowns. And I'm not bragging, it's a PITA - I'm grateful I can feed my son, but boy that's a lot of fluid to deal with. I mention it to give others who are considering buying it a benchmark: if you do this, then the lily padz don't work).
I do have very large breasts and very large nipples, and the lily pad doesn't quite cover the areola. Maybe they would be more effective on a smaller breast, I don't know. But for large breasts, and heavy letdowns, they're nearly useless.

Wonderful, Innovative Problem-Solver May 02, 2011
By Pollyanna Mom These are soo comfortable, and PREVENT, rather than absorb, embarrassing leakage. With my last child I used both classic round cloth pads and Medela's disposable pads. The cloth pads made me look like I had major headlights under my cloths - seriously, big defined circles RIGHT there. I could only wear them under certain thicker fabrics, like sweatshirts or layers. The disposable pads were helpful under thinner clothing to be discreet, or when traveling, but felt like I was wearing maxi-pads on my chest. I'm still pregnant, and tried them out the other night. Again, very comfortable and secure. I did sweat right under the areolar area for some reason, maybe due to blocked pores, but just dabbed with a towel when removing them in the morning. It's convenient to get this starter kit to try all the related products. The cleansing foam makes cleaning a breeze, and I know it's formulated to help them last to the max. Looking forward to a more comfortable and freeing nursing experience this time.

Cannot go back to regular pads Mar 25, 2011
By New Dad Please ignore the user name "new Dad" I am now actually a seasoned Mom with two kids, a 19 month old and a 2 week old. These nursing pads are a MUST HAVE. I can't believe I didn't know about them with my daughter. I used the paper pads which tend to absorb a lot of fluid and smell bad. Yuck. So these are amazing because they contain the fluid and they are re-useable. Just make sure you have your burp cloth handy to catch the milk that's inside when you remove it and try not to squirt your little one in the face, lol.
